This page sets out the standards every Fitness Career Guide article is held to. It applies to training guides, wellness and health promotion pages, career guides and product pages alike.
What we publish
We cover getting and staying active, everyday wellness habits, health promotion, and careers in health and fitness: becoming a trainer or instructor, choosing a certification, and what the work involves. We stay inside that subject. We do not publish pages on topics we are not set up to cover well.
Accuracy and sources
- Every factual statement is tied to a source, linked in the sentence that relies on it.
- We prefer government and medical sources such as the CDC, NIH and MedlinePlus, published studies, and the official pages of certifying and professional bodies.
- What a company says is reported as that company’s statement. What a study found is reported as what that study found.
- Salaries, job outlooks, prices and terms carry the date they were checked, because they change.
Independence
Some pages carry affiliate links, and we may earn a commission. That never decides what a page says. We do not accept payment to publish a page, change a verdict or rank a product. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
Health and career information
We give information that helps you decide and prepare good questions. We do not give individual medical, legal or financial advice, and we do not prescribe training programs. See our medical disclaimer.
Review and updates
Each article gets an independent check against its sources before it is published, and it is updated when the facts change. How that works is set out in how we research. Mistakes are fixed under our corrections policy.
